One of the most common assumptions in the framework of spiritual development is that the more we identify inhibiting factors within ourselves, the more we can change them and influence reality for the better.
In other words, according to this assumption, the world is built on cause and effect.
The more we change our causes and actions in accordance with the results we want to achieve, the faster and more easily the results will come.
In this article, I will review another angle for using inhibiting patterns as an indicator of the quantity and quality
of development.
My goal is to expand the concept of blockage and also turn it into a free choice. Therefore, reading this article requires personal responsibility of the highest order.
What are inhibiting patterns?
Inhibiting patterns are behaviors, desires, emotions, thoughts or inner voices that are not in line with a person’s general and conscious goals. Over the course of life, people acquire beliefs that are not natural for their hearts to believe in, such as: judgment, criticism, self-worth and lack. Over time, these beliefs become the anchor of a person’s security in the world. As long as the person understands that “not everything that happens is under their control,” they can continue to hold on to the lack and take responsibility only for the areas of life that they believe they are responsible for. In other words, the lack makes a person feel that there are issues in life that they have no choice in.
On the other hand, the heart and intuition that are within them belong to their soul and cannot contain this.
The inhibiting patterns are responsible for providing an explanation for the gap between the instinct to take responsibility and the feeling of worthlessness in the face of the power of reality that is perceived as stronger.
Most people’s lives are damaged as a result of this gap. They fail to see themselves as the source of all that is happening and therefore do not believe that they can heal the parts that they are supposed to heal.
Patterns can appear to be inhibiting and then turn out to be the “cover story” for the patterns that are really inhibiting. The internal mechanisms of lack in people strictly maintain the patterns that are really inhibiting.
Therefore, everything that happens in these mechanisms is actually a reflection of the level of security of a person on Earth. The more confident a person is, the more aware they are of the gap between the patterns they have and the patterns they tell themselves about.
Patterns and Life Lessons
A behavioral pattern may cause discomfort because it causes unpleasant situations to repeat themselves.
Time after time, you will find yourself in similar situations, behaving in the same way or encountering the same blockages or impasses that you cannot resolve. Your inhibiting patterns have the same lexicon: fear, guilt, insecurity, and sometimes also shame, disappointment, and expectation. This is the set of “buttons” that are pressed while the inner reality is afraid of the complete control and creation of the absolute reality that it may discover in its life.
Unlike a life lesson, a pattern does not teach us about a new ability in ourselves. It actually invites us to detach ourselves from the specific interpretation we have set and return to seeing reality as it is.
In other words, to look at the world differently than the pattern that is expressed in three main characteristics:
- The person understands the complete process by which he creates reality.
- The person understands that everything that happens to him happened because he chose it.
- The person understands how to change the choice if necessary and if desired.
How to identify inhibiting patterns in our lives?
In most cases, the third item in the list in the previous paragraph is the most difficult for people. A person who was born and raised his entire life with the feeling that his power is not equal to the power of reality and beliefs such as fate dictated his life has difficulty believing that he creates the reality of his life even without intending to do so. Therefore, it is important to identify the inhibiting patterns in a way that is completely disconnected from life lessons. In other words, our life lessons are the second stage after we have cut off from ourselves the privilege of giving excessive power to our patterns instead of taking responsibility on our own. You can identify your patterns in 3
main ways:
- Analyzing recurring events and comparing them – If you feel that things happen to you repeatedly in several ways, it is a sign that you can find a pattern of behavior there. Check what all the events have in common? How do you react in a similar way to each of the events? The way you react is the pattern that you must clarify in order to observe reality as it is.
- Reflection of internal reactions – Behavior patterns have 3 main inhibiting messages:
- You are not enough.
You are not equal to a greater force that controls you in that situation.
You have no way to create change.
If you have found one of the messages within yourself, you can find external events in which this message or several of them are expressed.
An extreme relationship between states of security and states of insecurity – If you find yourself explaining why change cannot happen instead of making the change, it is a sign that you have a story about a pattern that protects a particularly deep and rooted pattern. In most cases, people’s behavioral patterns are actually what they are confident in and not what they tell themselves as the reason for their insecurity.
Practical methods for identifying blocking patterns
You can use various types of tools to address your patterns and be ready for the passage of your life lessons and the realization of your role in the world.
I recommend using energy scanning and the language of light as an energy tool that bypasses awareness to help you filter your emotional world into full synchronization with who you are. You can prepare yourself for using these tools, while focusing your attention on expanding clarity about everything that is happening to you in your inner reality.
You can start doing this as homework while reading this article:
- Keep a journal where you write down your thoughts and feelings daily to identify recurring patterns.
- Record yourself and listen later – get to know the way you explain things. Are you trying to convince with things that you know are not true?
Why change inhibiting patterns?
- A sense of freedom and lightness: You will no longer find yourself bound by commitments that exist in your mind.
- Improved relationships: You will be able to freely choose how to respond to relationships, without being controlled by your inner reality.
- Progress towards fulfilling your role in the world: You can fulfill your role in the world with complete freedom to shape your consciousness accordingly.
Feel free to continue your gentle cruise on the site and you will be able to find the starting point for your journey.
